Flexible Specification of Semantic Services using Web Engineering Methods and Tools. ISWC 2006 :.
Today’s IT architectures are largely considered the biggest roadblocks that most companies face when making strategic business moves. The good news is that the Software Engineering community and the Semantic Web community are bridging their efforts to foster a new generation of design and development tools. In this paper we describe a top-down approach to the design and development of applications employing Semantic Web Services, that combines semantic methods and tools (i.e., ontology engineering, semantic service annotation and discovery) with Software Engineering ones (i.e., formal business process development, component-based software design techniques, and computer-aided software design). The described approach was the most complete among those that took part in the Semantic Web Service Challenge 2006.
